More than half of the people surveyed admitted to being hoarders, keeping their wardrobes and drawers full of fashions that they hope will make a comeback.
Ten per cent of women wanted the kitten heel to become acceptable to wear in public again and 14 per cent wanted miniskirts to be in vogue.
The most popular resurrected fashions span the decades from 19th Century pocket squares to Fred Perry shirts popular with Mods in the 1950s and 60s to plastic chokers that adorned the necks of pop princesses in the 1990s.
More than a fifth of people surveyed said they considered wine lipstick to be one of this decade’s biggest comebacks.
Surprisingly, a number of 90s’ trends that some would rather forget have made a comeback, including platforms and oversized jeans favoured by bands in the noughties.

Coventry residents also revealed their biggest fashion regrets with shell suits, flared trousers and tattoos topping the list.
