MASON CITY Three Mason City retailers’ cold weather boots will keep toes both cozy and stylish this season.
At Younkers at Southbridge Mall, it’s all about the hardware.
There’s an array of colors and fabrics to choose from, including blacks, chocolate browns, tans, gray, nude and duo tone, like Bandolino’s “Cale” ($149), and leather, polyurathane and microfiber. The three are cropped, detailed alternatives to the brand’s calf high designs.
A little bit of western flair is coming back into style for both tall and short leather boots. Brown’s Shoe Fit carries two embroidered, cowboy inspired looks from Born: “Riven” booties ($135) and “Montana” tall boots ($190).
Knoup said he expects the trend to gain popularity in coming years.
“We’re seeing a lot of military inspired styles that lace up or have buckles,” he said.
Bearpaw and Bare Traps offer water resistant features in a cute, durable shoe, while Toms’ mid calf “Nepal” ($110) combines a fuzzy interior with durable suede exterior.
Other top women’s brands available at Tradehome include jellypop, Madeline Stuart and Taos. Some boots are also available in wide calf widths.
For men, traditional industrial boots are hot sellers during winter months. Doc Marten’s “Ironbridge” ($135) offers steel toe protection, while others from Merrill and Keen are waterproof.
